Effectively it's still a mono track, so duplicating it doesn't do anything. What you do is...
1. Select the clips, hit option L to unlink the tracks. 2. Select the clip you don't want and delete it. 3. Load the clip in the viewer by double clicking on it, then set pan to 0. www.strypesinpost.com
faster than that: select the clips in the timeline, control + . (Full-stop) in a nutshell: control + , = pan left control + = centre control + / = pan right these work on groups of clips, too so can be very handy if you dont want a ono mix, them maybe go back to adobe and see what went wrong. nick
Just up your User Preferences in FCP for Real-time Audio Mixing to 99 Quality to High.
The default settings are for G3 PPC computers waaaaaay back in 1999 not the powerhouses of computing we use today. For instant answers to more than one hundred common FCP questions, check out the LAFCPUG FAQ Wiki here : [www.lafcpug.org]

Go to sequence settings, set audio outputs to 6 tracks. Then in the left column in the timeline, right click and assign the audio tracks to the output busses. www.strypesinpost.com
