Exporting whitePosted by emilyelaine
Hello,
Running fcp 7 on a quad core. When I export a quicktime if there are blank spaces on the timeline they are exporting as white frames/video instead of black. Is there a setting that I need to do in order for it to export black? Without having to go thru and filling all the spots with slug. Any help?
Just curious. In your canvas... there are three buttons for drop down menus. In the options in the right most drop down menu button (crap, I knew I should have taken that Apple certified test), is it set to "black", "white" or "checkerboard"? Try setting it to black, if you are set to white.

i don't know what the cause is, but there is a simple quick fix.
lock all your audio. (shift F4) select all video. (Apple A) bump all video up one track. (option + up arrow) now you have a clean track under all the others you can fill with slug. here's one way: go to the beginning of your sequence (home) mark in go to the end of the seq (end) mark out. open slug into the viewer. hold OPTION drag the duration from the canvas window and drop it into the Viewer's duration field. edit the slug into the new empty track. another way. bump the first and last clips back down to V1 right click in between and chose "fill with slug" nick
