I've got an upcoming project that will be projected as 1:3:2 aspect ratio but I'm not sure what my sequence setting should be in FCP. Assuming I shoot 4K RED and downrez to 2K for FCP, what should the sequence setting be set up as?

check the aspect ratio again. 1:3:2 implies a three dimensional frame. Also, what is the frame size you are required to submit?

You are correct. My mistake. The screen is 3453 x 1080 and the max resolution for output is 2048 x 1200.

That's a weird frame size/aspect ratio (both screen dimensions and delivery frame size), but it's projection, and projection can require different or strange frame sizes (check the 2k delivery specs again. It seems wrong).

If you create a custom frame size, you will get RT support in FCP. So I would cut in a 2K sequence, and do a matte in Photoshop to letterbox/pad the image to the correct display aspect ratio, that will help me frame up the shot in FCP. Then you can crop off the excess area in the image when you are done with the edit.

Dammit. I saw the subject line and thought this was gonna be a question about stereoscopic workflow.
