left shift on the FCP keyboard issue

I'm using FCP v7 and whenever I use the left side shift key on the keyboard, it makes all the FCP windows shrink while I'm holding the shift key down instead of letting me do any kind of shift+ something function. The right side shift button works just fine. Is this normal? Is there a way I can turn off this annoying left-shift issue?

Go into OS - System Preferences, Dashboard and Expose. Turn everything off ("-" ).
