Flip4Mac on a G5

I'm converting several shows to .wmv for the web. They process fine on my Macbook Pro, although it takes almost an entire day to process a 22 min. show (720p24f to .wmv, full res). The same Flip4Mac is loaded on my older G5, but I get an error in Compressor - "3x encoder type unavailable". The Flip4Mac software is 2.3, which supposedly works with G5 & Intel running 4.0 or later. The Flip4Mac seems to work okay using Quicktime, but not in Compressor.

Any suggestions?

I'm assuming this is FCP 6 on a G5. Compressor is quite finicky there. Have you tried going back a version or two for Flip4Mac and see if it works better.
