Getting Codec error msg when I try to render
December 16, 2010 02:25AM
I'm cutting something together from several clips I pulled off YouTube using MPEG Streamclip. I saved each as an Apple Pro Res 422 file.

However, while the first couple worked fine, when I put some others to the timeline and try to render, I'm getting an error message that reads: Codec not found. You may be using a compressor type w/out the corresponding hardware card.

I checked the settings and both the sequence and the clips are all APR422, so I don't know what's wrong. Any suggestions? It's more than one clip yet some work fine.

I tried restarting my computer and even re-downloaded one of the clips I'm having problems with several times, but to no avail.

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

hi, Erin.

maybe you have a corrupted sequence?
try creating a new sequence (same codec) and copy/paste everything into that.
next step would be to try a new project.

Nick,

Thanks for the suggestion. Will give it a try.

Do you have any large stills in your timeline? Resize them and save them as RGB jpeg, tiff, tga or png files.

It worked, Nick. Since I wasn't too far along, just started new project and, importing same exact clips, they seem to work now.

Thanks.

No, no stills at the time of the problem. But think I got it solved. Thanks for responding.
