Capture card playback settings?

Questions about how to set the output pixel and frame rate for sequences.

I have a Black Magic Intensity Pro card in my Mac Pro. The HDMI output is connected to my consumer HDTV. The TV is a "720" model (1366 x 768) although it seems to handle 1080i broadcast or 1080p @30fps from a blu-ray disc (scales it down).

?- when working on projects, what should the BM card output be set to? Do I match the sequence settings? changing the output of the card every time I playback a sequence to match the sequence settings? or do I set the BM card output to best match the native resolution of the TV, and not change it?

You match your sequence settings. The TV will scale the image down.

Ok, thx. Also ran into an issue where the TV won't playback 720 @ 60p (not 30). Probably because it's not a broadcast standard?

60p is a broadcast standard. I know many networks that require 720p60 master tapes. And they air that format.

The TV will play 60p just fine.

What's probably happening is your timeline is you are not set up correctly to play the footage out. Here we just use the Easy Setup menus and choose the correct setting for whatever it is we're editing. We use the Kona's but it's the same with BMD cards.
