Best conversions from 23.98 to 29.97?

Cut a film trailer in FCP6 on a 23.98 timeline and need to convert to 29.97 to post on the web. What is the best workflow? Compressor, or? Can I convert the whole edited sequence which has 75 cuts in under 2 minutes, or need to convert each clip and re-edit? Any help appreciated!

Why does it need to be 29.97 for the web? The web doesn't care if it is 23.98 or 29.97. Why not just leave it 23.98 for the web? the need to convert 23.98 to 29.97 mainly is for output to tape...TAPE requirements from networks. I fail to see why 29.97 would be needed for web delivery. Makes ZERO sense.

Because it looks jerky when uploaded on the web at 23.98 (either Quicktime & mp4), tried several diff sites including vimeo and imdb...not acceptable. Yes 23.98 plays fine on Blu-ray or on a computer or if we get to theatrical, but not net. So what is the best workflow please? And does it work for an edited sequence or just clips?

I beg to differ...every single one of these videos is 23.98...

Converting 23.98 to 29.97 won't get rid of anything. The frame rate is 24fps...that won't change. Even going to 29.97, you only have 24 actual frames.

Why then do all my 23.98 videos look jerky when uploaded but none of my 29.97 videos do? I have a million + views of 29.97 on youtube that play fine, but 23.98 stutters. Anyone have a good workflow for this? I'd appreciate an answer to my question, not an argument...thanks!

Honestly I just compress my videos to H.264...and there are YouTube presets in Compressor for FCS3...and then upload. Or to Vimeo...or to my webpage. Did you look at them? Do they look stuttery?

I'd like to see yours, to see what you are talking about.

Your stuff looks great. Everything I have up is from 29.97 source so no applicable links. Don't have FCS3 yet, still on a G5. Plan on changing that this week. Anything specific about h.264 presets from 23.98 1080 DVCPro HD I should know about? Will try it and post a link. Thanks!
