Hi champs.

I'm looking for an online calculator that could tell me how big my 56.34GB of Sony NEX VG mts files will be once transcoded to prores 422 for editing in FCP.

does anyone know of such an app, site, or perspective file size conversion knowledge?

ta muchly, Gaticca x

If you assume the Sony shoots AVCHD @24Mbps and ProRes 422 is approximately 145Mbps then your file in ProRes 422 will be:

145÷24 = 6 (approx)

So approximately 6x larger

6x 56.34GB = 338GB (approx)
