Scratch capture stops when it thinks end

I was capturing some footage off of a VHS player when FCP's scratch capture tool kept stopping, I believe when it detected noise or dead air "snow". Is there a setting that allows the user to decide when to manually stop recording?

Non-Controllable device. This ignores incoming timecode.
