Yea. ZFS. I never really read much into the file system, as I was reading bits and pieces and then Apple dropped it from SL. I'm not sure how much it would help against directory corruption during a hard power down. But sudden power trips do tend to corrupt files and directories especially if there was a write operation on the drive.
