Dirty mouse how to clean?Posted by harry323
Good morrow Happy Artists.
I have an ordinary mouse. It's the one with the tiny little trackball on the top. Said tiny trackball has recently gone on a partial strike and frequently refuses to respond in the "up" rolling direction. It works fine in all the other dolling directions. Any ideas on how to open it up and clean the little ball mechanism? I am too stingy to buy a new one and I can't see any way in. I wonder, perchance, could this lack of access be an intentional design flaw? And - now that I'm on the subject - I believe that there are sisters and brethren on this board who use that metal track pad thing for Final Cut. Might this be a good investment? Best and thanks, Harry. PS. I have to tell you about a wonderful typo in an email I received today from a client who asked me to back up his media to an "eternal drive".
Last time I cleaned my wireless Apple mouse I used an alcohol based cleaning fluid and cotton wool and worked the ball until it was loose and free from hand-jam.
Something you should do more often if you find you are getting sticky balls. AAaaaand now I'm going to stop my response as its verging on R rated... ![]() For instant answers to more than one hundred common FCP questions, check out the LAFCPUG FAQ Wiki here : [www.lafcpug.org]
