Gradual slowing of aerial clip

FCP 5.1.4
Mas OS 10.5.8

I have an aerial sequence that I would like to gradually slow down and eventually coming to a complete stop.

As of this writing I have not be able to locate a manual or information in order to do so. Please advise where I can locate this information.

Thanks as always.

Check the manual for time remapping.

All the best,

There's Kronos from the Furnace Core plugins by the Foundry...

Check the demo:

If you have the cheese to get a good plug-in, I think Twixtor is the mac daddy shizzle for speed changing:

Yeah, you can slow EOS footage down to a theoretical 1000fps with twixtor. Given the right parameters, it looks really cool.

Or save yourself a boatload of dough and us Motion and optical flow to get results that (from this tutorial) look about as good as Twixtor

also the tutorial blog mentions that to minimize motion blur when you shoot - 60fps and fast shutter are a huge help.

This last suggestion sounds like the way for me to go.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I have to disagree with the Motion suggestion. Tried it...messy result. You need a pristine source to get a decent result. Twixtor's algorithm gives much more accurate tweening...it is unparalleled.

I also tried the Motion path - and if your background is uncomplicated and steady it's OK, but Twixtor still outperformed on most trials. Mind you, we were slow-moing dolphins jumping. Moving water is not anywhere on the scale of 'uncomplicated background'.
