How long should a half-hr show be for broadcast? 28:30 trt?

Every network has a slightly different pie. Check with the network to find who to talk to or where to surf to for their half-hour time pie.

22 minutes is much more usual, but o what Loren says.

28:30? Jeez, even in the good old days it was never 28:30.

I was producing regularly for a local affiliate and it was 22:26 for the half hour, but as everyone else has indicated... ask.

22 and a half or 24 and a half. The magic numbers. Or rather, what Shane said. Depends on the network, but if you're doing a pilot, a 24 min target is quite safe.

If you are talking about a half hour show for an infomercial then it could be anywhere from 27 to 28:30

Again you have to check with your network rep.
