Error importing long AF100 clips

I'm working with FCP 7.03 on an 8 core (late 2010) Mac Pro with 16Gb RAM. I have an internal 3TB RAID + an external 4TB RAID connected via SATA. I am trying to import
clips from the original AF100 created folder (placed on my internal drive) using FCP's Log & Transfer. It will import all my shorter clips fine, but when it gets to my hour-long interview
it crashes FCP altogether. I ran a test using my 2011 MBP 17" and easily converted the file in FCP. On other projects I continually get "Out of Memory" errors as well. I always feel as though
there's a ghost in the machine- What gives?

Yes, I trashed preferences.

Are we to believe that your crash log inserted emoticons into the code? If so, I love it.

I don't know why those showed up, but it was not my doing... that's a straight copy and paste...

Check out this [www.digitalrebellion.com] . There is a free trial, and it has a crash reporter that tells you in English a lot more than what you see there in the log. Basically that's just telling us that something broke, which you guessed, I'm sure.
