HQ is 10-bit file data (40 million colors), which has been a real PITA in FCP history. Could be the issue.
Can you test ingest at 8-bit (the usual 16 million colors) -- anything without "HQ" in it.
Just a thought. I've seen material straighten out during edit and other operations when reverting to 8-bit. Of course, Blu-Ray loves those extra colors...
