I've got this terrific mid-side Audio Technica mic ... which I usually use in standard stereo mode when shooting. I have used it as a Mid-Side ... which is infinitely more controllable in editing, IF one has the right plug-in. I've long forgotten what I used to convert the Mid-Side to controllable stereo (or a more direct shotgun style mono). I'm wondering if anyone out there is using Mid-Side recorded audio, and what they might be doing the conversion with?
I seem to remember that back in the linear rooms we could decode to LR stereo with 3 faders - mid is panned centre, side is panned left, duplicate of side with phase inverted is panned right. Adjust mid level to alter stereo spread.
