in search of alternate NLE...? media100?

anyone remember media100?

i used to use a mid-level version (i link it was lx?) back in like 1997. it was by far the most responsive and solid NLE ive used.
yeah, i know it was a hardware+software solution. but it was 1997!!! id like to think our base hardware in 2011 would be at least as good as dedicated boards from 13 years ago...

looks like boris owns it now. but i was wondering if anyone uses it?
from the online docs, it LOOKS as if its compatible with all the current buzz-word technologies...

im going to try it out and see what i get...

yeah, i had a quick look at their site a while back, it looks sort of interesting.

from memory they've got pretty hefty support and upgrade costs.
they had a bit of a bad rep for that, back in the day, although it may just have been our local VARs

tried it today under snow leopard.

CLUNKY. cumbersome. HUGE step backward from where it was in 1998. boris is the corel of video. their interfaces are soooo HORRIBLY designed.
