import files NEX-FS100 - 1080/25p - AVCHD, from FC5.1 ?

Dear Friends, is FC 5.1 capable to import files from NEX-FS100 AVCHD 1080/25p ??
I can't do it . Thank in advance. R

From memory AVCHD support only came in around FCP 6. Pretty sure FCP 5 can't handle it. Your best bet would be to use another utility program to transcode it to something that you can cut with in FCP5. I don't think Pro-Res was around then either, although that would be the best option if it were available to you.

Yep. In fact, FCP5 didn't have Log and Transfer -- even P2 media (one of the first tapeless formats accepted) was ingested via something called "Panasonic P2 Import", suggesting that they never really took other tapeless formats into consideration.

It wasn't. ProRes files could be read in FCP5, but FCP5 would need to edit those files in another Sequence codec, such as Apple Intermediate Codec or DVCPro HD. It's not a massive problem since you can edit in an AIC Sequence and then move to a ProRes Sequence on an online station.
