I Am in DisbeliefPosted by dougnolan16289
Video -- beautiful video -- was shot on a Sony exmor R 16.2 megapixel Camera. The camera was bought in Europe and is PAL.
There is 11 minutes of this video on a 32 Gig memory card. The camera plays it back perfectly, but Final Cut reduces it to a jerky NTSC copy. How does Final Cut Pro ever work in Europe ? I'm trying everything...
PAL? So this is an SD camera? Didn't know they still made those anymore, and tapeless to boot.
What format does the camera record to? (A quick internet search suggests that Exmor R is used for mobile phones. So was it shot on a phone?) What did you use to convert the footage for FCP? Usually when you're importing tapeless footage, you set your own preferences for how you want the clips to come in. ![]() www.derekmok.com
Nothing wrong with FCP in PAL or NTSC frame rates. You need to set up your project properly.

It's AVCHD, so the OP has to transcode this footage to something FCP can read, like ProRes. You can use Log and Transfer: [documentation.apple.com] OR you can use Premiere Pro and start editing right now. ![]()
