OT: Program Usage Monitoring

Our little company that could Does 4 things; video, websites, image design, and scores/music production.

On my station i may have 3-7 jobs to do in a day. I use studiometry and it has a job monitor that can be program specific but it very non-intuative especially for monitoring multiple programs open.

What usually happens in i will start on ABC project and work on it for Xhrs. In the Xhrs i may use 5-6 programs with 3 of them say PP, PS & C4D staying open 90% of the time. I need to know:

Which programs were open from X o'clock to X o'clock?
What job was it associated to?
How many hrs was each program open?
Maybe, How many hrs&min was it an active window?

It doesn't have to do everything but it needs to be a good way of grasping all that was done at the end of the day.

Does anyone know of something that does this well?

I just wanted to report to who ever may want to use a program like this. > [www.rescuetime.com]

It is quite awesome. It monitors all programs used and it does take into account the active window for those of us who may have a bunch of stuff open but idle. It gives really specific stats and it keeps a log so that you can look at the past however long and see your most productive times of the year, month or day.

It doesn't alway understand what you are using a particular url for as it monitor which urls you visit. It ignores porn sites all together for to goes who may venture to venture. The funny thing is that they say it in the description of functions.

It does require some very light training such as telling it that a particular website is being edited via browser (for web designers).

It compares your productivity to other users for motivation. and dig the stat sheet. it even breakdown in to more intricate detail.

There is a free version which so far has served me great and a paid version for $72.00USD per year. It works on multiple stations so you could use it to monitor team performance also.
