DVD Studio Pro Encoder

DVD Studio Pro Encoder

I use Compressor to convert my full res output files to be ready for DVD Studio Pro. Once I drag them (the .m2v & .ac3 file) into the DVD track, does DVD Studio Pro re-compress them with the encoder? I presumed the built-in encoder in DVD Studio Pro is to encode a full res quicktime file, should you drop it in the track without using Compressor.

I just want to make sure I'm not compressing twice...artifacting is already a bit of an issue, since most of my material originates as HD 720p and I'm creating SD DVDs.

Thank you.

if your file from Compressor meets DVD specs, DVD SP will not re-encode.
