fundamental question re: media manager

I am double checking my understanding of media manager. If I copy a sequence using media manager deleting unused media to an external hard drive, will media manager delete all unused media from my source file? In other words, will making a copy using delete unused media mean that all unused media will be deleted from my capture scratch disc?

It will COPY the media, and only use the portions used in the sequence, with handles you tell it. The original files are left alone.
