FCS v.7.0. Updates available?

Can anyone please tell me if updates to FCS.v.7.0. are available anywhere? I realize that Apple is no longer supporting it, but perhaps there is some dark and secret place where one can obtain the updates.

or are you wanting to upgrade from 6 to 7?

I have v.7.0., but "Software Update" does not offer me updates.

ah, well...
my next question is WHERE do you have 7.0?

it has to be in the Applications folder, and NOT in a folder within that folder
(where you may have moved it if you installed FCPX perhaps, or for some other reason)

Aha ... I have it in a folder within the Applications folder. A folder of glowing beauty which I created all by myself and called "FCP 7". I thought that was pretty clever.

But I am getting the idea that this is why I am not receiving updates - yes?

I'll remove the FCP 7 folder and hope that I am offered updates - but since Apple doesn't support FCP 7 anymore, will I?

The updater looks in your application folder to see what applications you have an what version they are, then offers you updates according to that information, so yeah, if you've got FCPx in there it will offer updates for that but not see the other FCP. Try putting FCPX in a folder and leaving the other one out. It should work fine.

I seeeee. So I should hide FCPX (which I never use) and probably also hide FCS 2? In fact - hide everything except FCS 7.0.

leave all the latest FCS apps out in the open if you want updates for them.

you know, Compressor etc.
