Can I use the Migration Assistant to copy FCP7 to my new MacPro with 10.8.2 without having to re-key or would it be better to reload from the original disks?

i've used migration assistant quite a few times.
i dont remember any issues.

migrate your apps and your settings.

if i had heaps of time, i wouldn't mind doing a fresh install of everything,
starting over on a new computer sounds like a nice idea,
but i don't ever seem to have that time these days.

If it were only FCP I'd probably do a fresh install, but after five or six years on the same computer I had so many little cool utilities and application that I'm not sure where I even got them from. I recently loaded FCP 7 on my MacBook Pro and it just took forever so I thought I would give this a try.

So last night I started the Migration Assistant and this morning everything in my World was as it should be. All I have to do was re-key.

FCP 7 seems to have issues running on 10.8.2 it doesn't run well with the ATI Radeon 5770, but that for another thread.

Thanks nick.

As a rule - I don't migrate. Fresh install EVERYTHING without clicking around (best chance at no issues)...but that's just me.
