iPad 3 for Color? Really?

I have been reading some articles and forum post on dvx that say an ipad3 retina is good for external color monitoring/grading, even through BM Intensity.

Has anyone here used this for indy or broadcast delivery?

I just tries using a MXO2 mini and through an older BM intensity. Honestly, Its not horrible and much better than the average led backlit. Its like a step down from the nec 10 bit i normally use. On the other bay theres an Asus and a mxo mini on that one and its close but no cookie.

The there is a CC app for 3.99 that you can get to adjust the screen for a spyder3. The screen is kinda small for me personally. I would consider this a very entry level way of CC. Its closer than some HDTV. Still there is a lot of sweetener though.

Try it. I thought it was complete bull but i am somewhat impressed. I would not use it for broadcast though. (maybe indy film)

footage was from the GH3 14-140mm @720p24 and the HMC150 @720p24.
