Will a usb 3 drive with a thunderbolt adpater provide thunderbolt speeds?

Hi,

I was curious about this particular adapter.

If you connect a usb 3 drive to it, wouldn't you be limited to usb 3 speed? Or would you get Thunderbolt speed?

If you are limited to usb3 speed, I don't see the advantage of this adapter (unles you don't have usb3 ports).

Thank you

Rule of thumb has always been that throughput is only as fast as your slowest connection.

When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.

Not sure why they are claiming "Tranfers occur at 10Gbps"

I think they mean if you use one of their thunderbolt drives in it.

wouldn't 10Gps be faster than any single drive can physically deal with?

you'd need a RAID array to get that sort of speed
