I'm looking for a case to protect my computer when traveling to and from set.

I came acorss this but it looks a little flimsy. [eshop.macsales.com]

Any recommendations on a traveling case for the new 2012 27 inch imac?

You absolutely get what you pay for here so think about that carefully before putting your livelihood in a canvas bag.

I wouldn't move a desktop in anything less that a Pelican or Nanuk (I have both - that are indestructible):

When putting it into a pelican case, should the LCD side of the monitor face up like this [www.amazon.com]
and should one protect the lcd screen with a cover [www.radtech.us]?

im a long term pelican user for just about all my potentially delicate items. i tend to place all my screens face down / in. just to minimize their exposure.
