Media Manager Question

Hello,

I am using Media Manager in FCP 7 to send a project to Resolve and I have a question. I highlighted my project in the timeline, and I used the following settings.

INCLUDE RENDER FILES: NO
INCLUDE MASTER CLIPS OUTSIDE SELECTION: YES
DELETE UNUSED MEDIA FROM SELECTED ITEMS: NO
DELETE UNUSED MEDIA FROM DUPLICATED ITEMS: NO
USE HANDLES: NO
INCLUDE AFFILIATED CLIPS OUTSIDE SELECTION: NO
DUPLICATE SELECED ITEMS AND PLACE THEM INTO A NEW PROJECT: YES
INCLUDE NONACTIVE MULTIANGLE: NO

I rendered it out (took forever, it's a feature) and I opened it up on a different MAC just make sure everything was there. In my timeline I made sure everything that COULD be on the first track was pushed down into the first track. However, some clips couldn't be pushed down because I have some parts in the film where I play with opacity, so I stack clips on top of eachother. Well, everything that wasn't on the first track is no longer there. Is this okay? Will they come back when the colorist makes an XML file or something? Do I need to switch my settings to include these other tracks? Do I need to nest these sequences before Media Managing my project?

Thanks,

Mike

That would happen if you had the contents of that track selected when you used media manager, and you opened MM with the sequence active.

You could select the missing tracks and Ryan MM again. You may well have some duplicate media.
OR... You could try copying those tracks into your media managed project and re-connecting to the media you do have.

"Include master clips outside selection" was probably not necessary, as you may have gotten more media thanyu needed, But it could wind up in your favour.

Or you could select your sequence in the browser, which will get everything on the timeline. Selecting stuff in the timeline can be hit and miss. Again, you'd have to repeat the entire process to do it correctly.
