New Mac Mini (with SSD) ingest super super slow FCP 7.0

Yes the subject says it all. Super Super slow ingesting.

Mac Mini 2.5 i5 with 16GB of RAM. One internal 512GD SSD that runs everything - OS 10.8, FCP 7.0, and serves as the scratch disk.

Ingesting a 20 minute AVCHD clip to 422LT takes over 1 hour. Or it may just stop/crash about 2/3 way through.

Any ideas of what's up?

First guess-- don't capture or ingest media to your system drive! Try attaching a fast external disc. Your scratch disk should be separate anyway.

Look at the Geekbench results and compare it to
a Mac Pro twelve core...
