Importing .avi files to FCP 7

I have a project from Livestream Studio that is saved as an .avi file, 1920x1080, 29.97. I can put it in the timeline with ProRes settings, but the sequence will not fully render...I get a General Error. Shorter cut sequences will render. Is there a fix for this or an another converter like MPEGStreamclip?

You shouldn't ever be sticking AVIs into an FCP 7 timeline. Convert it to a QuickTime movie.
