No Firewire 800 on my new imac

I just got an imac and there are no firewire 800 input.
How am I supposed to connect all my drives?
Job due next week and all the media is on CaldDigit and GTech drives w/o USB3 or thunderbolt

You didn't check when buying?
Use a Firewire-Thunderbolt adapter.

See above...adapters.
FireWire 800 hasn't been included in new Macs for some time now, at least two years, I think. It's a typical Apple move, trying to force people to go to Thunderbolt, and in the process forcing people to buy a bunch of new hardware.

Man, I am totally off as far as timing with Apple!
Last mbp I bought is when Apple dropped the fire1394
and now 800
yeah as you say they push people to change/upgrade
