Video Camera Purchase

Happy New Year everyone.

Im in the process of upgrading my camera. I have a canon XL1s. Id like to buy another Canon camera like the XF300. If Im going to dive in, why not dive in with a ball n chain. LOL Can anyone add some advice as to what is best in cameras these days?

Im shooting events, tutorials, testamonials, streaming live at times, How to videos. And comercials. I have been very happy with Canon in the past. I was thinking about the purchase of the XL-H1a/s but it is still tape based technology. Although I do have the Focus FS-200 pro to record to. The new cameras are amazine to see what they put out. The only issue I see now is having to rely on Premire CS6 as my main editing platform and put FCP 7 on the back burner.

Any advice would be much welcomed.

Thanks and all the best.

Cheers.

I've been getting a lot of C300 footage lately...that's a Canon camera. Although not a cheap one. And it shoots MXF format, in the XDCAM 422 codec. Perfect for Avid and Premiere Pro...and a log and transfer plugin for FCP 7 is out there.

XF300 is a decent one too...shoots the same format.
