FCP sequence presets for Sony HXR-NX5U NXCAM?

Hello Everyone,

Thank you in advance for any advice. I am working on Final Cut Pro 7.0.3. I shot with a Sony HXR-NX5U - NXCAM camcorder for the first time. I set the camera to 1080 30p. The footage is all lumped together in one AVCHD file. I am using log and transfer to convert the individual clips to Apple Pro Res 422 (HQ) format and the audio to stereo.

SO my question is what sequence preset do I use??
(Do I use Apple Pro Res 422 (HQ), 1920x1080, 30p, 48kHz??)

Or XDCAM?

Your edit sequences should match you are editing with, the ProRes

Definitely set sequence to the ProRes transcode. Or, you can drag an ingested ProRes clip into your timeline and let it match settings automatically. It's a shortcut, albeit not infallible.

XDCAM, although you can edit it in FCP7, just as you can HDV and H.264, is primarily a compressed camera codec.
