Hello,
I have about 100 Mini DV tapes that I would like to get transfer to use them in my FCP. Does anyone have any recommendations of places that do that? It seems the only way to get the original timecode onto the media is to capture using FCP. I have a DSR 11 deck but for some reason - even though I bought it new in (I think 2008) when Sony stopped sellng them - it is constantly - not working. This time it played one tape then stopped... meaning I can hear it hum so I think the tape it "playing" but there is no timecode showing and no image in the capture window. Now I might have set the wrong preferences - but do not think so.

Hello All,
I have a similar situation. I have about 100 to 150 hours of DV tape. I own two of the DSR-25 decks for transfer and I will be doing the labor myself. Question is: If I use FC 7 for the process, will the capture files be generic Quicktime files? I'd like to be able to use the files in other editing systems such as Adobe Premiere as I might not be the only person working on these. thank you
Should work, and though i'm very sure it will, i'm no PP expert.
maybe ask on that forum, too [www.lafcpug.org] nick
