Software for moving or copying files from one drive to another

Hello to all,

I'm going to move some media files from one drive to another and was recently told that it's not a good idea to drag and drop media files from one drive to another due to the possibility of data loss. Any recommendations on software to use for this besides media manager in FCP 7?

i haven't had any serious problems simply copying the files from one drive to the other.
if you are copying from Camera cards, then there is a priority to do a careful, verified copy.
otherwise, simple drag n drop, or copy & paste, is fine.

Carbon Copy Cloner will verify copies it makes, i believe. (takes longer of course)
