soubd keeps disappearing from timeline

A strange thing has been happening recently.

I'm using FCP 7.0.3 with iMac 27" (3.3 Ghz i5, Retina 5K, Mid 2015) El Capitan 10.11.6.

Been shooting XAVC on Sony PXW-X70 camcorder and transferring to .mov using Brorsoft Video Converter.

No trouble till now - when suddenly on the timeline the sound for a particular section of the clip disappears.

I double click to find that particular section has no sound but the rest of the clip is fine.

When I open the clip in the viewer, there's no issue. A copy made on another timeline is fine but a third copy
has same sound missing. Any idea what could be happening ?

I'm in the process of finishing two films so don't want to be stranded mid-way.

I can always save and keep making backups everytime I'm in the middle of work but I can't seem to understand this.

There's no sound in the audio meter too .... so it's just disappeared for that section on that timeline even though it's fine in other places.

No response from anyone to my problem ... in the meantime more and more sound keeps disappearing from the timeline ... what kind of bug is this ?

sorry, Pankaj
i haven't been here for a while.

That's a weird bug. I don't remember hearing of it before.
so the audio is not being deleted from the files, it;s just a timeline problem?

have you trashed your FCP preferences?

El Capitain could be part of this problem.
it's a very new OS and FCP is very old software,
there WILL be incompatibilities.
