FCP 6 emergency help needed

I need help!
I found a bunch of what looked like render files in the music folder in my itunes. I deleted them and then when I opened a project in FCP6, it showed some sections on the timeline unrendered. When I tried to render them I got a "general error" window and then FCP crashed. Since then every time I have tried to do something in FCP 6, it crashes. Try to import a file, crash. Try to open another project file, crash. I tried putting all the files back into itunes, and nothing changes. I need to get it back up and working again as I have work to do for clients.
Any suggestions appreciated!

have you trashed preferences?
can you re-install?

Actually, I shut the machine down and when I started back up today, it all seemed normal. Now I still have to wonder why all those files are in my itunes music library when they are supposed to be on an entirely different drive. Any thoughts?

no idea how those files got there.
check your scratch disks and move forward.
