How to I set the pan controls for audio capture?

Posted by Michael Hart
<HTML>In regards to the issue I had with my XL-1 and the capture of different channels into FCP 2, it was recommended that I use/set the pan controls in FCP 2 to adjust the levels of the two separate channels that I have captured. I am trying to get the sound from the right channel to stand out more. When the footage was shot the person had the right channel louder then the left. When I capture it through FCP with the audio settings set to (CH1+CH2) it gives me two channels but they both sound the same. This is where the pan levels come in. Where do I find these and is it set before or after capture?

Also if that doesn't do it is there a way to take only audio from 1 channel from an XL-1? I don't know how.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all who have helped me thus far.

<HTML>Michael,

With FW DV you can not control the audio volume during capture.

After capture, unlink your audio tracks and raise the volume on the one you want.
