VO record problem

I'm trying to do a Voice Over using my Sony minidisk player. The VU meter in the VO box moves when I speak into the mic. It says "Ready to Record" in the VO dialogue box, but when I click on the Record button, I get this message.

"The specified capture destination file already exists."

I've tried deleting all empty tracks and then inserting a new track. I turned off all the audio tracks I wasn't using and locked them. I don't get the countdown to record either. This is something I was doing earlier with the same setup and it was working fine. What is wrong?

Is there a place on the web where these error messages are explained.

I'm just wondering. Could it be possibly the auto select? That screws up everyone. Read about it here and see if its the culprit.
