URGNT:colour tool bar bug

Hi all,,

Can anyone please help....
Whenever i am using an effect which depends on a colour tool bar manipulation, FCP freezes and i have to reboot causing me to loose any unsaved work. I can't understand this but it occurs whenever a colour bar is opened. any suggestions?

Trash preferences and create a new clean project.
