Scratch disk directory problems

Hello!

When I open FCP 4.5 I get an error message:

"Unable to set scratch disk. Your selected directory is on write-protected or non-writable media."

Any ideas what is causing this? Is it a OS preferences problem?

Throw away your preferences. When you start up FCP again it will ask you where you want to set them, select your secong internal drive or whatever, preferably not a system drive, and you should be good to go.
