export - bad quality

I am sitting in Germany and - what a pitty - it seems that we don´t have such a helpful forum.
I asked a week before about a problem that I have. Maybe no one unterstood me???
I am working with fcp 4, I imported anamorphic material and exported it letterboxed. But the outgoing material is in very bad quality, it seems to have only every second line (half picture) (I don´t know the correct word)
I remember the fcp 2 had something like interlaced rendering (?)
Does anyone has a idea how I can improve the quality??

What are you exporting too? Tape? Web? DVD? How did you apply the letter box? Did you render at full quality, Safe Mode?

if you're exporting from a sequnce, then check the sequnce render settings (in hte sequnce settings)
they may have been set to 50%

nothing is coming to mind, i'm affraid.

it's realy hard to say what the problem is without seeing it.

is there some way you could post an image for us to see?

capture some representative shots from your tape, grab some images, and post a before an after.

Thanks for your help.
I solved the problem by exporting the sequence into Quicktime, imported it back and then edited to tape. The quality is quite good.
