Best Capture card?

Best Capture card?

We're looking to buy a new Capture card. We shoot on Betacam & MiniDV. Our show is aired on broadcast TV. We need the most stable card to work with FCP, Compressor and DVD Studio Pro (something our Cinewave card has failed to do consistantly). We were wondering if anyone had any specific cards (Aja/Blackmagic) that they recommend. Also we are considering having an HD ready card so we are ready for the future.

Price is not our greatest concern however complete system stability is.

Thank you for any help.

AJA I/O or Decklink Extreme. You'll have many people who use both rave...And many that do broadcast work.

The Real World uses the AJA, just so you know.

Eddie,

AJA I/O is not a capture card...it's a I/O unit that uses your motherboard's FireWire 400 Port to move the data - which leaves an extra port for that Decklink Extreme card (or a Kona2 if you ar planning on going HD).

We use 2 - Aja I/O's at my studio for Broadcast TV - SDI to / from DigiBeta - rock solid since day 1.
