And I thought "LAFCPUG" was a weird acronym...didn't know this existed. Thanks, Kevin. Looks like they took their cue from the Panasonic DVX and AG-HVX models with the all-black chassis. Trends...somehow black doesn't look as "Canon". But good to know, since I quite like Canon cameras.

I like the camera. Don't like the HDV aspect though.

im looking at buying an HDV camera. do you guys see any specs on the cannon that woul dmake it better than the sony HVRz1u?

or should i just screw it and get an xl2?
