TIGER probs

Hey Guys,

Having loaded OSX 10.4.2, on my dual 2,5 Gig G5, I am now no longer able to either RESTART or POWER DOWN from the desktop. I have to do it manually...??

Any thoughts??

Thanks,

Marcus.

Boot up with the OS install CD, go to disk utility and repair permissions

Also did you do a clear install of Tiger, meaning wiping the drive as you install Tiger and then reinstalling all other programs?

I have always found that a clean install is the best way to go. In fact a few of the FCP Gurus I have run into recommend doing a clean install of all software every year or so.

Alas, no I didn't. It took me so long to set this baby up that I just did an upgrade...

any time there is a purchase level update of a mac OS it is a VERY good idea to wipe the drive and do a clean install
