SoundCount is the fast and easy way to calculate the total playtime of commercial sounds in a Final Cut Pro project.
SoundCount is a really big timesaver when working with those kind of sounds and will be very helpful preparing cue sheets for commercial music licensing.

By leveraging the power of the FCP XML format, SoundCount allows the user to create cue sheets from a FCP sequence XML for each track or combinations of tracks and sequences. Using FCP's XML features SoundCount allows to process audio levels for an exact calculation of sound usage times and kind.
This unique workflow currently can only be achieved by using FCP. Future versions will include EDL handling.

After opening the Final Cut Pro sequence XML, SoundCount will go through the tracks and look whether they are empty, enabled or not. A list of all relevant tracks will be displayed, from there the user can choose a single track or use a selection of tracks to calculate the duration of all clip usages.
This audio level processing can also be used to split the sound usage into foreground and background sounds. The final results can be saved as plain text report or as tab-delimited text files for further processing in a data base.

There is a 14 day free trial, the full version is 95 Euro (about US$110).
