Glue Tools, LLC Releases "Séance v1.1" Phantom Camera Software for Macintosh

(July 11, 2012, Santa Barbara) ? Glue Tools, LLC has updated its Macintosh-based Séance control package which provides control for Vision Research's line of Phantom high-speed digital cameras. Up until now, these cameras were only compatible with Windows-based computers, requiring Macintosh users to set up an elaborate system to simply download footage. Séance v1.1 improves upon the previous release to provide a better Phantom Camera workflow for Macintosh users.

"This new version has been built to improve the DIT's ability to work with Phantom Cameras and the Cinestation." explains Bob Monaghan, CEO of Glue Tools. "We have added a number of features requested by our users, to make the Phantom a first class citizen in the production facility."

Improvements to Séance include:
? Cine Preview has now been added for live visualization of the footage. (No HD-SDI monitor needed.)
? Full control over Color and Image processing settings in the Camera's Hardware.
? User Interface improvements when saving to multiple destinations.
? Full compatibility with Vision Research PCC 2.1 Cine file format
? Improved Demo mode for testing purposes.

Phantom cameras have been the instrument of choice for many big-budget productions, such as: Inception, Green Hornet, Spartacus, Sherlock Holmes, Jackass, Step it Up, Death Race, Secretariat, True Legend, TRON: Legacy and others. They are also used extensively in science-oriented productions and reality TV, as well as documentaries like Planet in Motion and the recent IMAX production Born to be Wild.

TV commercials have adopted slow-motion as a tool for adding drama or emotional impact and Phantom cameras are used to help promote products ranging from shampoo to automobiles. Vision Research?s Phantom design team will be honored with a Science and Engineering Academy Award® on February 11, 2012 for their technological contributions?the first digital cinema camera to be so recognized.

Séance for Macintosh is priced at $1599 with an Annual Support License of $599; the Séance/Phantom Cine Toolkit bundle is $2099. Products are currently available through Glue Tools? website: www.gluetools.com [www.gluetools.com]
