I cannot load up color on my Mac Pro Early 2008

-10gig ram ---4x 2gig---2x 1gig
-4x western digital 7500aaks hard drives
-blackmagic intensity pro
-2x ATi 2600 cards
-3x monitors
Latest OSX
Latest Final Cut Updates

It just splashes the logo screen then quits

I tried deleting the preferences

I tried the send to from final cut

I tried opening color by itself

I tried reformatting my entire system

I tried on my old system via external hard drive

I have apple Qmaster enabled w/ all 8 cores available as a cluster

I have never successfully opened color on my mac pro although i have not tried to open it until i upgraded some of the hardware

I have a suspicion it is the blackmagic or the ram setup but this and my scansnap are the only problems I have ever run into on this machine

Everything works properly on my macbook pro

Please help I am in love with this program and I cant use it on my calibrated 46" Samsung through my intensity card......................

Try right-clicking on the Color icon and show package contents. Rename Minsys.plist
You might be able to launch Color that way.

I could be all wrong here - but i seem to remember a problem when there are two (2) video cards present.

Your MacBook Pro has one video card. But then again I could be wrong!

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!smileys with beer

I reinstalled color version 1.0 and it opens without a hiccup..... If I have any problems I will post again the results and solution available.

Obviously i will not try to update the software until 1.03 is available.

Couldnt wait to see if updating again would cause the same problem and going from 1.0 to 1.02 through software update has rendered color inoperative. Although as a 1.0 it would not display the video so I guess by having it open and not work is just as bad as it not opening at all........confused smiley
