Color render times

Hello....

Wondering if anyone is familiar with the render times for Color. I am using the 8 core MacPro, I am rendering a clip with basic primary and a secondary eyedropper. The total clip time is approx. 3 minutes, the render time took approx. 10 minutes. Is this average?

Thanks for any information, I have just bought this system and am experiencing a few quirky things that might be hardware related.

What graphics card do you have? Color does rely on the graphics card when rendering. Plus, what are the settings? DVCPRO HD? ProRes? ProRes HQ?

Also, handles... Do you necessarily need handles? You can disable handles (think it's under project settings), as that adds to your render times.
